Where Should I Volunteer Abroad?
This post is written by a guest author.
Volunteering in Kenya has in fact been increasing over the past 20 years or so. Volunteering overseas is becoming exceedingly popular amongst many travellers. Volunteering in Zanzibar is most certainly amongst the top destinations volunteers are now visiting There are many profound reasons why this is the case. Kenya and Tanzania are very popular tourist destinations with people from all over the world due to there unique scenery and landscapes. These countries also have a very unique and diverse culture to offer the rest of the world ranging from the Masai tribe in Tanzania to the Pokot tribe in Northern Kenya. As the rest of Africa goes these countries are relatively stable attracting more tourists.
Once a country becomes known and appreciated on a global scale there is no surprise in seeing visitor numbers rise to such destinations. Volunteers on the whole will visit a country with all this in mind. he main aim of their trip is to serve and help the local communities in a range of various activities from teaching children to working with HIV/AIDS orphans. Most of the time volunteers will take time out to explore the country visiting the famous landmarks and attractions to fulfill their experience.
East Africa is relatively safe in comparison to its neighbouring countries such as Somalia and Sudan. The uprising and development is taking rapid shape in many of these areas boosting tourism numbers as more facilities are being constantly erected. It is important for the governments to keep the countries stable allowing the constant growth to continue.
The local communities of Africa are not the only people to benefit from the voluntary assistance they are supplied with. The volunteers themselves benefit profoundly with the feeling of motivation, inspiration, self belief and of course achievement as what they have achieved within the local community. Volunteering is a great motivator for the individual and helps open up a wide range of doors for the future.
